My Story I have
owned my bead store going on 18 years. It started off as a 600 sq.
ft. store, and was really the only full service bead store in the
area. I then moved into a larger one in the same area, but
realized that the customer potential was elsewhere. So I moved
downtown Charleston, and was doing great when a fire destroyed my
store. I packed up what was left over and opened up at the local
indoor flea market and worked weekends for about 3 years. The
cold, heat, dust, etc...I was tired of it all! I found my current
location where I am now--and it's been the best. So I am here to
stay. No more moving thousands and thousands of beads to a new
location. No looking back.
Onward!
During
the store, I got interested in making glass lampwork beads. I took
a couple of classes and then started to practice, practice, and
practice. I soon had friends, and family wanting my beads. So now
I work at home in a studio my husband built, and mass produce for
shows that I do. A lot of time and work goes into each bead,
making it one of a kind. No two beads will ever be exactly alike.
There are times when you sleep, think, and dream beads, it is
always great when someone will love one of your creations, and buy
the beads to design their own necklace, bracelet or some wonderful
lampwork piece.
When I
am not making beads, I am spending time with family, working the
store, going to shows, selling my beads, and jewelry. I am now in
a local Artist Center, where my beads and jewelry are displayed. I
want to provide quality. affordable, one-of-a-kind bead, so that
you, as a customer, can create your own
jewelry.
